Love Heals and Unites

Quote: St Thomas Aquinas said Faith had to do with things are not seen, and hope with things that are not at hand.”

The grace filled words of the centurion we pray just before we receive the Holy Communion “Lord I am not worthy to receive you, but you say the word, I will be healed.” His faith gave way to see that Jesus can heal his servant at a distance because of Love. Here three barriers are broken – physical distance, social status (master and servant) and political or ethnic differences (Roman and Jewish).  For those who love distance does not matter, they are united in the heart and in spirit. When we love and know each other, just a glance is enough, from a distance or in a crowded room, to communicate with each other. Those who love truly, in them there is no inequality, no discrimination, no partiality. Love unites us, heals us, fills us with compassion and care for each other. Today let the prayer of Centurion helps to believe in Jesus, who heals our broken relationship, brings healing and comfort to the sick and filling us with love and joy.

We Pray: Lord Jesus, help me to have a deep faith in you and in your words of healing and peace. Fill me with your love to remained united with you and with my brothers and sisters, becoming one family of God.

That is why, in teaching us the “Our Father”, Jesus told us to pray: “Forgive us our trespasses”
